Animal Farm by George Orwell and To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

In all honesty, I think most of these books are more meaningful once you are older. You can read them, yet you won't get so much out of it. Do you know what I mean? Not to say you couldn't physically read it and comprehend it, but it won't CONNECT. Or it will only partially. Lists aren't bad, though.

Question: do you know what an allegory is?

I want to read in the next year:
1984 by George Orwell
Atonement by Ian McEwan
Beloved by Toni Morrison
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Go Ask Alice by Beatrice Sparks
Fallen Angels by Walter Dean MyersLizziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15488844231027847623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6519016575112558719.post-34367430404602638972009-08-19T18:55:32.385-04:002009-08-19T18:55:32.385-04:00Don't feel lonely!
I am interested in reading...Don't feel lonely!

I am interested in reading the Tolstoy books, but I figure I should wait until I'm older and have experienced more.

I believe in my English class next year I'll read The Great Gatsby (at the moment two copies are stacked on my desk)...Lizziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15488844231027847623noreply@blogger.com
